Lautje, as has often been mentioned, is a bit of a troublemaker. Actually, he's (so far) not terribly interested in making trouble, so much as he is simply curious. So, as would be expected, if the Mommy and Daddy turn their backs on him for 5 seconds, he's certain to find something of interest. In the photo below, it's a water bottle sitting out for recycling, so no real danger there.
And generally speaking, the apartment is Lautje-safe (meaning everything of interest is sitting on a shelf well above his reach, or so the Mommy and Daddy like to think...). However, that doesn't stop Lautje from exploring those areas that are available to him. And, aside from his incredible ability to find the only unsafe item in a room within 5 seconds, the most endearing thing about Lautje's explorations is the look on his face when the Mommy or Daddy finds him. As can be seen above and below, it's a mixture of guilt, uncertainty, and surprise. If he could hide the item behind his back and whistle, he would.
