DIY kids

The kiddos - Lautje in particular - have recently become enamored with building things. The Opa has tried his best to satisfy that need, building with him the most elaborate tram driver's console ever, complete with lights, knobs, levers and switches:

Such is far beyond the Mommy's skills, but she picks up the occasional run-down piece of furniture and, with the help of the kiddos, tries to turn it into something more...respectable. This little doll's clothes closet, for instance, had definitely seen better days:

But the kiddos immediately got to work. They dusted, they sanded, they wiped:

And once everything was properly sanded and wiped, they painted:

They glued, and they filed and they painted some more. And finally, it was done:

Anneke has magnanimously agreed to share it with Lautje for now, but she has made it very clear - this one's hers and hers alone...
