Christmas Photos

So, the Christmas story. Given that Lautje is the amalgamation of 3 different cultures, each of which handles Christmas slightly/completely differently, deciding on a "standard" Christmas was not as easy as the Mommy and Daddy thought it would be. Luckily, the Mommy and Daddy didn't have to explain to Lautje why the American Santa Claus visits him but the German one does not. By next year, a perfectly logical lie will have been found (if it is possible to logically explain how an obese older man in a red suit parks his flying reindeer on the roof while breaking into apartments in a foreign country just to leave presents...). But, this year was easy: Lautje awoke on the 25th to find presents on the Mommy and Daddy's bed and didn't have the language skills to ask why.
After filling up the recycling bin with the absolute mess that Lautje made of the wrapping paper (and wondering why the Daddy and Mommy bothered to buy presents for Lautje since he was more interested in the wrapping paper), everyone drove up to the Oma and Opa's for a proper family Christmas (definition: more relatives, more children, more noise, better food...). Lautje quite enjoyed himself, even getting his first look at a real Christmas tree.
The next day, Lautje once again got more wrapping paper to destroy and spread throughout the apartment (and, of course, more presents...), as the Granny and Papa's packages were unpacked. As you can see below, Lautje understands how to unpack a box (he's not much good at putting things into a box, but taking stuff out and distributing it randomly throughout the apartment is his specialty...). And so a Merry Christmas was had by all. Even if Lautje didn't quite understand the concept yet, he certainly enjoyed the traditions nonetheless.
