Lautje Helping the Mommy
As mentioned numerous time previously, anytime the Mommy and Daddy are doing something, Lautje wants to "help". Whether than means "helping" eat the Daddy's food, or "helping" fold/unfold the laundry, Lautje emulates whatever his parents are doing. Some time ago, the Mommy was putting together a small box for the kitchen, and of course, Lautje wanted to help...
A further close-up of the situation shows the extent to which Lautje understood and emulated what the Mommy was doing. He may not have been able to actually screw in the screws, but he certainly understood what device to use, what to use it on, and how to go about doing it. All he lacked was sufficient hand-eye coordination and strength to do so.
Naturally, Lautje's fascination didn't stop at screwdrivers, but rather became more intensive when a hammer showed up. Here was the opportunity to actually hit something without getting yelled at! With the Mommy's guidance, Lautje was able to take a few (well-meant but ultimately fruitless) swings. As can be seen, Lautje was quite spellbound.
The Mommy and Daddy can't wait for Lautje to grow-up, so they can spend more time taking photos of things being built than actually building them.
