Summer Vacation - Addendum
Complaints have been voiced calling for, quote, Deutschland to get off the beach and onto the computer. We are nothing if not prompt, and so here is the last installment of the vacation pictures - ah, those days of t-shirts and suntan lotion... Anneke loved stealing the Mommy's chair while practicing the art of looking harmless and innocent (two adjectives NEVER used in connection with her name before...):
If the Mommy succeeded in reclaiming her chair, Anneke would amuse herself by trying to lift her brother off the ground. Need it be added that very little progress was made in elevation, but that the entertainment value was immense?
Lautje reciprocated by pulling his sister in their beloved "boldercar" - filled with, among other things, all the toys, books, food, clothing, stuffed animals, diaper supplies and shovels Anneke felt were essential for her survival in such a hostile environment: When he wasn't playing dead weight (or rather, wriggling and giggling weight) for his sister or acting as her mule, Lautje became rather proficient at cajoling his cousin Josephine into pretty much anything he put his mind to (a charm that worked both ways, by the way...). Especially if it involved sea shells, shovels, buckets and getting dirty and wet:
Generally, Lautje seemed to be having a grand time: And how else could a perfect beach vacation day end but with a singing circle repeating "It's raining on the bridge" 1263 time in a row?
