Lautje and Anneke were thrilled to (re-)discover the Texas side of their family - including the furry portion (and yes, this is Anneke PETTING A DOG):
The Twosome were especially awed by their cousin Brandon, who - with endless patience! - was only too happy to keep them entertained:

Not to be outdone, cousin Austin (after some spectacular stunts involving a bicycle, water, and a kiddie pool...) agreed to try and teach Lautje to ride his old bike:
Anneke even put aside her fear of strangers and men, and especially strange men, to became fast friends with uncle James:
But naturally, when Papa pulled out the trump card, nothing else could compare... Even eating breakfast or getting dressed had to take back seat to watching his electric trains:
And whenever the squirrels were not interfering, the kiddos invariably managed to talk Nanny into joining them on the porch swing:
