Getting Old

So, it's that time of the year again when Laurens has his birthday (and the Mommy and Daddy start to feel really old). Six candles this time, which can't possibly be correct...

Getting older, though, doesn't just come with presents! It also means going to school, which for some puzzling reason is actually something that Laurens is looking forward to:

It also means losing his first tooth! He thought it would hurt, he dreaded it for a day or so, and then it suddenly just fell out almost unnoticed while he was eating cereal. Naturally, he had to spit it out into the Daddy's hand (along with the cereal... Ah, the memories...).

Of course, getting ready for school and losing teeth doesn't mean that the Dude is actually ready to conquer the world. He still needs a bare minimum of three stuffed animals to ward away the evil dragons that threaten to eat his secret stash of books every evening. Some things take a bit more time...
