Making a Mess

In addition to developing a stubborn and determined streak, Lautje has also lately been showing off his new-found eating skills. The Mommy has been letting Lautje experiment with other foods in the past few weeks, with rather entertaining results. Below, you can see the boy enjoying his first banana. Now, Lautje has eaten bananas before, as part of his normal food (pureed), but now the Mommy is letting Lautje eat them (or it might be better to phrase it: "gum them") in whole form and on his own. Needless to say, the boy's table manners leave a little something to be desired...
However, it is not only mushy bananas with which Lautje is allowed to experiment. Below, you can see his first experience feeding himself bread. As might be noticeable in both photos, Lautje is thoroughly enjoying his newly acquired freedom to make a mess...

All for the sake of a camera...

This might not have been mentioned before (or, at least not since the last post...), but Lautje is somewhat determined when he sees something he wants, especially when a camera is involved. Nothing stops him! He attacks, he adapts, he overcomes all obstacles. He lets nothing stop him from reaching the camera, even when that means trampling on the Daddy (while letting out his aggressions verbally), as seen below.
And there will always be yelling! Yelling and wild lunges for the camera, irrespective of any considerations for such trivial things as gravity or balance...
Yes, the camera is a magical device, with the power to turn our mild-mannered (Ok, ok, not-so-mild-mannered...) child into a raging bull of determination and stubbornness. All so he can wrap his neglected little fingers around the attached safety cord.
And scream out the Lautje cry of "Victory is mine, foolish parents!"
