Holiday Season
Once again, the Terrible Twosome have taken full advantage of a very busy holiday season. It began with a wonderful Thanksgiving turkey which turned even quasi-vegetarian Lautje into a carnivore:
It continued with the traditional Sinterklaas festivities, with family, gift bags left outside the door and an abundance of presents (6 kids x 5 presents each = a VERY messy living room...)Lautje especially loved his airplane, and continued to stuff its cargo area with everything he could lay hands on: Baby Helene's pacifiers, leftover noodles from the kitchen, a variety of slightly sticky and very dusty items found underneath the couch...
All the while, Anneke enjoyed some quality time with her Opa, looking at all of the old and new picture books and re-living the adventures of her short but eventful life:
And then came Christmas. On the 24th, the family bravely weathered the "blistering cold" 15-degree-Celsius weather to join the communal singing of Christmas carols (there were actual birds singing. Birds. On Christmas day. Seriously, if this is global warming, something needs to be done...). This was, once again, followed by a wonderful Christmas dinner...
... and more presents! Luckily, despite the lack of snow or ice or even a slightly chilling wind, Santa managed to drop some presents under the tree in return for milk and cookies. Non-lactose-free milk, one might add, as Lautje was very concerned it be the right type of milk. "But Mommy, what if Santa is lactose intolerant like Daddy???"
He was very relieved the next morning that the milk was gone, and thus Santa had been proven to not be lactose intolerant. Or he might simply have had a very unpleasant ride to the next house...
