Lautje and the Water

Some time ago (back when the Mommy was only moderately pregnant...), the entire family ventured to a public park to enjoy the sunshine. While basking in the glorious weather, the Mommy had the brilliant idea of standing in one of the "fountains" and cooling off her feet. Lautje, caught between wanting to emulate his Mommy and adhering to his generally conservative nature, was unsure as to whether he should follow, as can be seen below.
Lautje decided that, although he generally trusted the Mommy (so long as she wasn't trying to sneak vegetables into his exclusively meat and carbohydrate diet), he wasn't about to follow her without first testing the water...
Eventually, after some probing and testing and walking around the edges of the water until a more suitable entry point was found, Lautje somewhat reluctantly stuck his big toe in and tried it out. Needless to say, while other children may rush headlong into action, Lautje prefers to slowly peak around the corner first.
