Out and about with the Oma and Opa
A while back, the Opa and Oma came to indulge in some spoiling and cuddling of their grandchildren. Needless to say, this did not take much convincing on the part of Lautje and Anneke, especially since Lautje and the Opa are kindred spirits where trams are concerned: both get a thrill out of every single tram that passes by and impatiently wait the eternity of 45 seconds for the next one to show up, whereupon they are, once again, thrilled to see a tram and wait impatiently... etc. etc...
The trams having been thoroughly spotted, the Oma and Opa decided to take advantage of the sunshine and take Lautje and Anneke to the park, which unfortunately was sadly lacking in trams. However, Lautje was able to convince the Oma to go boat-spotting with him instead:
Meanwhile, Anneke decided to figure out exactly how to produce those funny speaking noises and find out which features (tongue? teeth? lips?) were involved in making them. The Oma was happy to oblige:
That accomplished, Anneke went on to practice another talent of hers, the "who, me??" look. In this case: "Who, me?? Drink your Coke? Why, I wouldn't dream of it! I merely saw it lying around and though I'd... keep it safe for you!"
