Anneke and Friends
Although Anneke enjoyed the water (and she thought the sand was rather tasty), she spent most of her time at the beach hanging out with everyone. Naturally, Anneke was also able to persuade her godmother Aunt Hanna to carry her around...
She had a rather more difficult time with her cousin Theo, who was obviously less able to carry her around, and also completely immune to her patented "please-pick-me-up" face. But it didn't stop her trying...
Cousin Josephine, on the other hand, got a good laugh out of Anneke, basically saying "you want me to pick you up? You must think I'm crazy!" Then, of course, to prove that she wasn't actually crazy, Josephine turned herself upside down and stared back at Anneke.
Convinced that Josephine was indeed crazy enough to pick her up (but that that wasn't necessarily a good thing), Anneke set her sights on an easier (and safer) target: Aunt Sarie. Needless to say, she was successful...
