Hanging with the Papa

While Lautje naturally spent most of his time in Texas attached to his Nanny (due in no small part to the her complete willingness to spoil him rotten), he also enjoyed hanging out with and helping the Papa. Luckily for the Papa, Lautje didn't understand exactly what "compost" was, or he might not have been so willing to help the Papa shovel it around...
But it wasn't all work, Lautje found time to kick the ball around with (or near) the Papa too.

And it wouldn't be Lautje if there wasn't some reading involved. As can be seen, the Papa's style of reading was a big hit.

Anneke was less able to demand the Papa's attention, but grandfathers always have a soft spot for their granddaughters, and the Papa is no exception. And while Anneke may not have been able to play ball or help with the compost, she was a more than enthusiastic listener whenever the Papa brought out his guitar to serenade her.

Visiting the Nanny and Papa

As most people know, the whole family spent a few weeks in Texas visiting the Grandparents. Aside from the warm and sunny weather, the ability and space to play outside nearly all day, and the relaxing of numerous rules due to it being a vacation, Lautje was most happy just to hang out with his Nanny (who spoiled him rotten...).
Of course, Anneke wasn't terribly upset by seeing the Nanny and Papa either...
