More Recent Photos

Now that Anneke's eyes are actually open and taking in the world, it was thought that perhaps she would enjoy something to look at. So the Mommy and Granny hooked up a musical mobile (good idea Granny!), and the era of the dancing bears commenced... Needless to say, Anneke loves the dancing bears (though the Daddy suspects that she will be quite crestfallen later in life when she learns that bears don't actually dance...).
And, of course, with the opening of the eyes, it was just a matter of time before Anneke took the next step: the opening of the mouth. She's obviously opened her mouth previously, but generally speaking, her doing so was always a harbinger of doom: either she was about to start screaming or she was going to spit up on someone... But now she's just making crazy sounds. At first, the Mommy and Daddy thought that she was just trying to talk to the bears, but pretty soon it became apparent that she was actually just trying out this noise-making stuff, to see what she could do.
Lautje, of course, is unimpressed by the change in his little sister. He prefers the more cerebral pursuits these days...
