It might have taken Anneke a little bit of time to learn to crawl, but since then, she has wasted no time at all in taking the next step... It seems the main reason Anneke wanted to crawl wasn't to steal Lautje's toys, it was to get to things on which she could pull herself upright. If that provides her more opportunities to steal Lautje's stuff, then so much the better...
It doesn't matter where she is or what she is supposed to be doing, the one certainty in the past week is that she's definitely standing up (or at least trying to...). Even when she's supposed to be taking a nap...
Unfortunately, the Texas trip photos must take a backseat for a post or two, in order to shine a spotlight on a very recent development. Although it seems like only yesterday that Anneke learned to roll over, she's now taken the final step: she's completely mobile (as can be seen below)... Although Lautje progressed through various stages of crawling (dragging himself forward with his arms, etc...) over a decent span of time, Anneke couldn't be bothered taking the slow progressive route. She crawled backwards for several weeks without ever figuring out how to move forwards, and then suddenly figured it out. She's been virtually non-stop exploring ever since.
Of course, this presents new problems, especially for Lautje...
Before, he could move away whenever he didn't want to interact with Anneke, or when he wanted to play by himself. As can be seen, this is no longer an option... For those who do not yet speak "Lautje", a quick summary: "Juju way" = "Anneke go away", and "Nas" = "Wet". Oh yes, Lautje is definitely enjoying the new era...
