Latest Anneke Pics

No real comment necessary: simply some recent Anneke photos.
Everyone will tell you that babies can't smile at this age, and they are probably technically correct. However, when the gas/whatever causes Anneke to "smile", the Mommy and Daddy still feel all warm and fuzzy...
Interesting aside: On her left wrist can be seen the hospital bracelet with her last name. Normally, they make it all frilly with pink beads etc..., however, because Anneke's last name is so long the entire bracelet is basically letters. The nurses seemed a little disappointed that Anneke only received one pink bead...

Lautje and Anneke

Lautje has really taken to being a big brother. The Mommy and Daddy weren't exactly sure how he would react to his new sister, but he's been really rather sweet about it. He insists on going to check on her whenever she cries (which is fairly often...).
He also insists that the Daddy sit on the floor so that he can stand on the Daddy's lap and get a good look at her.Even if only to point at her as if to say, "You mean I have to share my blog with her?"

Anneke and Friends

Naturally, since Anneke's birth, she's drawn a bit of interest. Everyone wants to hold her (and be spit up upon), change her diaper (which the Mommy and Daddy happily allow them to do...), and have their picture taken with her. Since the Mommy and Daddy still (nearly a week later) are quite sleep deprived, the visitor list has been rather limited. But, all the same, a few people snuck in to see the little girl. Obviously, the Mommy:
