Art is the triumph over chaos...

... or so they say. In Anneke and Lautje's case, however, it is more like art being the triumph OF chaos. Nevertheless, both Lautje and his sister love to draw and paint. Lautje's favorites are water colors (although the Mommy and Daddy are still working on explaining to him that the challenge is not to determine just how much paint can go on the same spot of paper before it rips):
Anneke is more into crayons, though truthfully, she'll draw with whatever she can find (pens, eyeliners, magic markers, spaghetti sauce...) on whatever is available (official correspondence, table cloth, wallpaper...). And while she may look like she is contemplating the perfect position of her next crayon stroke, her real thoughts are more along the line of "I wonder if mommy would make that funny face again if I drew a picture of a dog on her parquet floor..."
Lautje, of course, no longer is content with the relative simplicity of drawing with crayons. So to spice things up a bit, he decided to draw, do his flamingo impersonation and practice his headstand. All at the same time.
Unfortunately, Anneke has picked up on that and is now convinced that drawing must go paired with some majorly complicated, semi-dangerous physical exercise. Needless to say, the Mommy and Daddy are somewhat less thrilled about her attempts to follow her brother's lead...
